TASK FORCE
Background The Anti-Vaping Champions Task Force is dedicated to tobacco and vaping prevention efforts. We are medical and behavioral health care providers, public health professionals, educators and students, community organizations and neighbors working together to reduce the harmful effects of commercial tobacco use. Vision Policy Priorities • Flavor Ban: Educating community members and tobacco retailers about California’s existing ban on flavored nicotine products. • Secondhand Smoke in Public Spaces/ Multi-Unit Housing: Informing neighbors of the harmful impacts of secondhand smoke in public spaces and multi-unit housing. • Screening & Treatment: Promoting clinical best practices related to vaping cessation, particularly for young people. • Emerging Tobacco-Related Products: Educating legislators on the Tobacco Industry’s incessant attempts to evade existing laws by creating new products. We envision a world freed from the influence of commercial tobacco and its devastating effects on our communities.
