Smoke-free Homes Are Healthier for Everybody The Nevada County Tobacco Use Prevention Program asked residents of Grass Valley, CA, what they think about keeping people safe from secondhand smoke. 1 Here’s what we found: 95% of respondents do not allow smoking in their home. 91% of respondents believe breathing secondhand smoke is harmful. 68% believe that drifting secondhand smoke is a problem in multi-unit housing complexes in Grass Valley.

They can actually move it from one unit to another. 2 There is no safe level of secondhand smoke exposure —it is linked to breathing problems, lung cancer, heart disease, and a higher risk of stroke. 2 All secondhand smoke is dangerous. Marijuana and vape aerosols have some of the same cancer-causing chemicals as cigarettes. 3
