The Curricula You Need to Make a Difference From Teaching AIDS , the first professionally published classroom curriculum on HIV in the United States (1986) to the recent third edition of the HealthSmart comprehensive health education program for Grades K–12, ETR has been a leader in providing high-quality, science-based curricula for health education. We have developed and evaluated some of the most enduring prevention programs taught by schools and community agencies. In fact, we are the leading publisher of evidenced-based health curricula in the country today. Evidence-based programs have been scientifically evaluated and demonstrated statistically significant results from a rigorous research study of their effectiveness in achieving desired outcomes. Evidence informed programs have not been the subject of a formal research study, but do incorporate key characteristics research has identified in programs that have been found to be effective in changing health and risk behaviors.
