ETR offers the largest collection of evidence-based sexual and reproductive health interventions and programs
Making Proud Choices! Based on cognitive-behavioral theories, this program is designed to empower adolescents with the knowledge, confidence, and skills necessary to reduce their risk of STDs, HIV and pregnancy by abstaining from sex or using condoms if they choose to have sex. Available in Spanish.
Be Proud! Be Responsible! Be Protective! This adaptation of Be Proud! Be Responsible! is especially for adolescent mothers and pregnant teens. It encourages maternal protectiveness to motivate healthy decisions and decrease risky behavior that can lead to STD, HIV, or unplanned pregnancy. brainstorming, roleplays, DVDs, exercises and games. There is a strong emphasis on family, community, and self-respect. Making a Difference! With this program, youth ages 12-14 learn that abstinence is the surest way to eliminate the risk for pregnancy and STDs, including HIV. Roleplays, small-group discussions, and other activities help youth practice the skills they need to negotiate abstinence and handle social pressures. Promoting Health Among Teens! ( Abstinence Only ) In this abstinence-only version, students ages 12-14 learn about puberty, STDs, HIV, and pregnancy prevention. Includes talking circles, Reducing the Risk This program for high school students emphasizes developing skills such as risk assessment, communication, decision making, planning, refusal strategies, and delay tactics. Abstinence is presented as the safest choice, but guidelines on protection are included for sexually active students.
Draw the Line/ Respect the Line
Designed for grades 6, 7, and 8, this HIV, STD, and pregnancy prevention
program teaches how to set personal limits, address social
pressures, and respect the limits of others. Includes exercises to develop parent-child communication skills.
All4You! Designed to be used in alternative education settings to prevent HIV, other STD, and pregnancy among students in grades 9-12, ages 14-18. The program includes service- learning visits along with classroom sessions. interactive curriculum similar to the abstinence-only version.
